I have visited the Land of Smiles over the weekend, I have been planning to and yeah its a nice get-away.....
2 hours by plane with plenty of air pockets, I needed warm smiles to welcome me but didn't happen ....immigration officers were not smiling at all dude, too stiff that I was trying to talk to them if they need my return ticket, dedma...
But it took one usual Jie Jie smile to alleviate this not so nice feeling, I was welcomed, i know :-)

Voila, I got to hectic sked to fit my two days visit then....my Jie jie's effort was worth it. A river cruise along Chao Phraya river, the architectural design and the temples are just amazing, plus I saw a Catholic Church and I feel like home :-)
It was cool as a proof of settlements in early civilisation. It was a hot and sticky day, but my vision satisfaction was more important then..
We then headed to the King and I place....it was a marvelous site and I didn't expect Grand Palace is really that grand and astonishing. Wow! I need to put my face all over the place, of course using my camera (lol!)....
The place shows a rich culture, so as one of the royalties who paid my bill (twas aronund 300baht) I need to own this place for few seconds....its a must see place in BKK! His Highness and his family stay here (temporarily left the place due to political chaos).
The most coveted emerald Buddha is located here, Jie jie said its a symbol of victory for the two bordering countries way back then.
After the traditional sight seeing, no one can leave this place without shopping...- that's the advantage of having a local friend with you, you can haggle the price as hard as you can. Anyway, we ended up this day with a fine dinner, steamy steamboat and a perfect ten for the roast duck.
I left BKK with a big smile on my weary face!
