my heart beats....
as the wind blows i move in harmony, as the nature unravels i dance with beauty, as long as i am living my heart beats

Avenue Q

I heard the Avenue Q from a Filipino artist who is promoting it that it would be shown here, hmmmm sounds insteresting but I got no idea of what kind of musical play it was.
The next thing i saw about it was an ad with puppets, looked queer and the more I got curious about it....after all it bagged the 2004 Tonys so its really something special.
I got hold of the soundtrack few days before watching it but during close, as expected I missed the chance to listen to it ....

Nevertheless, its fantastic and since most of the performers were Filipinos it was simply magnifico! I need to mention Carla Guevarra who played Kate Monster/Lucy The Slut for her brilliant voice (she played Miss Saigon as Kim in London) and Joel Trinidad as Trekkie Monster/Nicky/Bad Bear for his great stage presence.
Ops plus the chance that I needed to change from a dress down day to at least a sunday dress, this was really extra special.
I keep on playing the track these past few days and i am enjoying it...from Im a little bit racist to There's fine fine line (swear there is)

Highly recommended but with some obscenity and uncensored adult content. (was it the reason why I enjoyed it? nvm).

Synopsis of the Avenue Q : Avenue Q is about real life. It's about finding a job, losing a job, learning about racism, getting an apartment, getting kicked out of your apartment, being different, falling in love, promiscuity, avoiding commitment, hangovers, Internet porn and discovering the world. A prologue on a television screen introduces us to this little corner of the world

Love is in the air!

Sounds familiar? Yes, I was enjoying listening to Joe D' Mango's lovenotes (via YT)... well Joe is a DJ who is gifted with a soothing voice to aid in your love distress moments.

I was not then an avid fan of his love notes in the air 15-minute counselling but I was able to catch for a few times his cool and impartial views.

I feels like Friday today though its a Tuesday wee morning ;-) His cold voice seems to know how to perfectly handle from simple crushes to complicated relationships. But he showed his courageous shadow of sharing his slice of cake. He is human, with his own frailties. I am human and got a good slice of cake, too. Damn...getting senti is just around the corner now, anyway i am a homo sapien....

Shopping as a Therapy!

I was thinking....why women indulged and splurged into shopping when they are feeling low?

Speaking for myself, it gives me another form of satisfaction and I feel good...taking my attention away from my rainy moments and again I feel better....wearing the clothes and carrying the bag I have been craving and this time I look at my best.

Unlike drinking spree I don't have hang over the next day, on the other hand i do have monetary hang over, my credit card bill is skyrocketing, ouch. So this is the crossroad to weigh the cost over benefit, so the next time i go out for shopping, breathe and take it slow, think before picking and trying, count the steps towards the counter, buying might just be an impulse.

So when the going gets tough, go for a window shopping instead :-)

Note: The logos above were giving good buys as much as 50% off, but since I took a deep breath and voila! back on my senses, I saved 100%, lol!

Lone Jogger in a Reservoir

I planned my saturdays to be a jogging day...shaking off some calories and enjoying nature at the same time.

Instead of waking up early this Saturday morning, t'was past ten when I started my day as my new jogging buddy was sick and she sent me sms me in the morning that she couldn't make it. Fine. I still have two options in the afternoon, either to grab my spike shoes and bum around Farrer park or I could jog in the late afternoon at a reservoir with fine ladies :-)

I decided to jog with fine ladies since I didn't confirm my attendance to the PFC (also John was not around, as a lazy member as I am I needed John's presence in some way or another). I made it early to McRitchie, I waited for an hour and to my dismay I was waiting at the wrong reservoir (Oh man!), this is the supposed venue for next week and sometimes stupidity can just cling around that it comes so natural next to me. On the lighter note, I really wanted to go to McRitchie. Jie Jie and BK have plans before but bad weather prevented us from going there, so it wasn't really a bad idea to be a lone jogger after all.

And it really turned out to be wonderful, I jogged uphill at my own pace, I couldn't bear to jog with two local ladies who casually chatting as if they were just doing their weekend window shopping, they were so cool and I was too hot and sticky sweating all over. McRitchie is so close to nature, monkeys are running wild and proactively staring at people who passes by..COOL! Snakes are also around which fortunately was away from my sight, hehehe.

But it was a fine afternoon, it was one of the moment when you can literally appreciate sunset alone, listening to Carrie Underwood songs and staring at some lovers around, I called back home and shared with my kids what this breezy afternoon has brought me. Sure I will take them there whenever they are around SG. Living in a city which is so close to nature is simply excellent.

blogging rules!

When I started this blog, my main aim is just to have a blog, as most people of my age has one. I used to maintain a livejournal but eventually i have abandoned the same. so this caught my fancy this time.

i started sharing it this morning, not too proud though as i don't have any material that can really be so informative and relevant. My blog is too egocentric. on the second thought, that's how my blog should be, it should reflect my personality unless it is going to be used as part of corporate strategy separate and distinct.

my blog is simply thinking aloud and make things larger than life. let live and let live!

no biz like showbiz

Just as the broadway song goes..."there's no business like show business"

I believe I am hooked to showbiz happenings recently, there is really nothing close to it. Cheap but true, I surely am aware of the newest buzz in town regardless I am 1,281 nautical miles away from PH. You bet, I can figure out even blind items. In fact, I can gauge myself to be that busy if I pass the day without it.

But yesterday shook me off from my senses....i was watching a weekly entertainment biz show(of which I waited for hours) and it really stripped the ugly and devastating world of showbiz. Its a supposed continuation of an issue where the host was given a chance to defend herself from accusations. Guess what? She threw back distasteful, malicious, dirty revelations I ever heard. Such a pure crap! Gossip and lies right in front of my face....what the heck am I doing here? Why am I wasting my brain cells comprehending this more bizaare than labyrinth stories.

Really there's nothing like stinking showbiz.

ang pagdadalaga ni maxie

I just watched an indie movie, yeah part of my procastination move. I have been wanting to watch an indie movie but never got a chance though.

Well, I was expecting the movie to be giggly and funny one just thinking how a boy starting to realize he was falling in love with his ideal man...but it was different, and i appreciate it and understand why it was critically acclaimed one. I read once in a review that the film reveals many idiosyncratic insights, how the people are so impoverished that there is an often hostile tension between the people, who often engage in illegal activity to survive, and the cops, hmmm only in the Philippines. :-) But it was perfectly executed from direction to cinematography.

Good job!

p-r-o-c-a-s-t-i-n-a-t-i-o-n-!

Procastination : to put off intentionally the doing of something that should be done

Damn, in short old manana habit (sorry cannot do the enye here)....Im drowning with this word and I am pratically doing it now, anyone can help me please?

I have been thinking why I need to put off something and delay a certain task to a later period, such an avoidance consuming more of my time and deteriorating my efficiency. For some it is viewed as a fresh break and giving a second look at a task is more effective. However, for the persistent procrastinator, it may lead to failure in their assignments and tasks to be furnished.Whew! I really need help.
N.B. - Just as I swim around, the photo is courtesy of my friend who can catch procastination in a glance ;-)

Land of Smiles

I have visited the Land of Smiles over the weekend, I have been planning to and yeah its a nice get-away.....

2 hours by plane with plenty of air pockets, I needed warm smiles to welcome me but didn't happen ....immigration officers were not smiling at all dude, too stiff that I was trying to talk to them if they need my return ticket, dedma...

But it took one usual Jie Jie smile to alleviate this not so nice feeling, I was welcomed, i know :-)
Voila, I got to hectic sked to fit my two days visit then....my Jie jie's effort was worth it. A river cruise along Chao Phraya river, the architectural design and the temples are just amazing, plus I saw a Catholic Church and I feel like home :-)

It was cool as a proof of settlements in early civilisation. It was a hot and sticky day, but my vision satisfaction was more important then..
We then headed to the King and I place....it was a marvelous site and I didn't expect Grand Palace is really that grand and astonishing. Wow! I need to put my face all over the place, of course using my camera (lol!)....
The place shows a rich culture, so as one of the royalties who paid my bill (twas aronund 300baht) I need to own this place for few seconds....its a must see place in BKK! His Highness and his family stay here (temporarily left the place due to political chaos). The most coveted emerald Buddha is located here, Jie jie said its a symbol of victory for the two bordering countries way back then.

After the traditional sight seeing, no one can leave this place without shopping...- that's the advantage of having a local friend with you, you can haggle the price as hard as you can. Anyway, we ended up this day with a fine dinner, steamy steamboat and a perfect ten for the roast duck.
I left BKK with a big smile on my weary face!
